Zermatt is full of colour and sparkles during the warm summer months, an extremely popular summer destination. Offering endless activites including summer skiing on the Matterhorn, hiking, climbing, golf, swimming, mounting biking, tennis, concerts, parapenting, walking and touring. It is alive with a series of events during the summer months, such as golf tournaments, music festivals, folklore shows, the Zermatt marathon.

Zermatt is a traditioning Swiss alpine village, it is very charming with chocolate box chalets and cuckoo clocks. Surrounded by some of Europe’s highest mountains, the Matterhorn, Dom and Monte Rosa and their dazzling glaciers, Zermatt is a charming traffic-free village with some amazing walking opportunities. In the village itself, which retains its traditional character, the quaint little streets are full of shops, boutiques, and mouth-watering pastry and chocolate shops, there are also many creative restaurants and a vibrant night life. Organised tours of the village are on offer as well as Mules rides through the village.

If your looking for a walking holiday, this is the place to come! There are over 400 km of signposted paths, suitable for all grades of walker, with mountain trains and cable cars making access to the higher trails easy. There is the Gornergrat mountain train that slowly takes visitors up the majestic mountain, a trip to the Rothorn by underground funicular and gondola/cable-cars providing breathbaking views on their way up. There are numerous mountain restaurants where you can relax with a cold drink, enjoy a well deserved hearty lunch and take in the amazing views of the Matterhorn.

Zermatt is a car free village, access for private transport is only allowed as far as Täsch (5km from Zermatt) and therefore the road from Täsch to Zermatt is not open to public transport. Zermatt is reached only by a train that winds its way around mountains and over gorges with breathtaking scenery, secure parking is available in Täsch. On the way up the mountains towards Zermatt, your first sight of the impressive Matterhorn will be a memorable one!

Klein Matterhorn’s glacier provides 365 day year round skiing, day in and day out, year in and year out, snow for skiers to ski on! Summer, winter, spring and fall, some days are better than others, and some days the weather is so fierce you can't ski even if you wanted to, but the snow is there. The Matterhorn offers Europe’s largest summer snow sports in Europe and hence this is a major attraction to a lot of visitors.
